The Arama Archives is a story level collection series made by Aratonati. It is made up of several smaller level collections, such as Melodical Escapism and Ad-OwO-ble. The Arama Archives is an alternative storyline branching from the game's (currently unreleased) Story Mode, following Nowo's defeat in Opia. The player and A-tan journey to a collection of archives connected to the supercomputer, following a map to an antigen that would speed up the cure. The series also features UI and story animations on Aratonati's YouTube channel alongside levels, intended to make the series appear as a game DLC or add-on to the base story.

Structure

The series is divided into five parts -- a prologue, an epilogue, and three main story arcs or "Archives" in between. Each archive contains "Documents" (chapters) representing a level collection. As of now, only the prologue and the first document of The Spiral Mainframe have been completed.

I. Prologue - A Substory (Melodical Escapism)

II. The Spiral Mainframe

  1. The OwO Invasion (Ad-OwO-ble)
  2. The Spectral Manifold

Plot

I. Prologue - A Substory

The events start after Hal and A-tan finishes their fight against Nowo in the original Story Mode.

After the boss passed out from exhaustion, A-tan began to question its personality as it behaved differently from the rest of the microorganisms they have fought. After hacking Nowo's memory code, she and Hal uncovered a map to an antigen that would speed up the cure. The problem is that it is located inside an external storage that is somehow connected to the supercomputer. A-tan identified it as "The Arama Archives".

II. The Spiral Mainframe

A. The OwO Invasion

The pair found the entryway to the archives, much to A-tan's chagrin that it was hidden from them all this time during their adventures in the supercomputer. To their astonishment, what they found in the archives is a simulated world filled with primitively shaped programs acting like living beings. One of those programs met the pair and introduced himself as Clam, explaining about the programs and identifying themselves as carbens (short for Coded Artificial Beings). After Hal and A-tan became acquainted with the circular carben, he explained that the cyberspace will soon be attacked by unknown invaders.

Then, in a near instant, the invaders arrived through a portal. As the trio ran, A-tan became shocked as she learned that the invaders are carbens with OwO faces. Confused on how such cute emotes would display any harm, one of the OwOs destroyed a building and frightening the civilians. Feeling the need to save them, A-tan announced that they need to stop the invasion, to which Hal protested that it would delay their search for the antigen. A-tan reassured it that they still carry the responsibility to protect living beings -- even if the carbens are not exactly real -- and that the invasion would still delay them.

The group escaped the initial attack and arrived at a seemingly haunted mansion, where they were ambushed by ghosts with OwO faces. That is when A-tan discovered that she can fight back by hacking them out with her programming skills. Asking Hal to taunt them in order to create a distraction, she had managed to terminate the ghOwOsts, except one whom she hacked it into a stasis. Seeking the invaders' motives, she analyzed its code and after a long pause, learning of their next attack. Clam soon bade goodbye to Hal and A-tan as he needed to get back home, then the pair set off to stop the next attack.

The pair arrived just in time at the site of the next attack, where after defeating the attackers, a giant blue cat-shaped carben attacked the nanobot, A-tan temporarily put it in a stasis, learning that the carben is named "Kitcat" and that its coding was protected by a security system. Hoping to drain its power out, A-tan released Kitcat from its stasis with the nanobot distracting it. Unfortunately, the carben got away before A-tan could manage to hack it out.

They pair soon found out that Kitcat was the leader of the invasion and is going after a superweapon found in space. Wasting no time, they braved through the attacks in the sky and disabled the lock on the aerial space launcher to launch themselves into space, where a now mechanized Kitcat was waiting for them. After escaping from yet another attack from the cat, Hal and A-tan located the superweapon inside a space mart, where inside resided a spray can that can OwO anything. The nanobot managed to destroy it and escaped the space mart.

Now with the invaders weakened and the superweapon destroyed. A-tan and Hal sets out to find Kitcat to force its surrender, but not before choosing to let their ghost prisoner go or to hack it out (If Hal chooses to let the ghOwOst go, the shortcut, "The Corrupted Data", will be unlocked). After searching the seas and underwater, the pair found out that Kitcat was still in space and that now the entire OwO army are going to attack them. The two managed to get through the attack and went back to space, where Kitcat was waiting for them.

With the cat now powerless, Hal demanded that it leave and to never threaten the (cyberspace) archives again. However, Kitcat grabbed a bottle of space milk -- the real superweapon -- and drank it, giving it enhanced powers and agility. Shocked that it had destroyed the wrong weapon, Hal barely survived against the cybercat's claw swipes and fast-paced laser beams. It managed to endure long enough until the effects of the space milk on Kitcat had worn-off. It then did a last resort attack against the nanobot, which also managed to survive its attacks. Realizing that now matter how hard it tried that it cannot defeat the nanobot, Kitcat surrendered by waving the white flag and fled the archives along with its minions, never to be seen again.

Having no time to rejoice over their victory, Hal and A-tan resumed their journey to The Spiral Mainframe to find the antigen.

B. The Spectral Manifold

A few days have passed. The nanobot logged in the cyberspace, but discovered that A-tan was still offline. Instead of doing nothing but wait for her, Hal decided to try out her habits that keeps her busy. Exploring its surroundings, it noticed a strange rift through the coding. Upon entering, it founded itself in a colorful realm.

Hal decided to explore further to learn more about the place when a large circular carben appeared, naming himself as Alzo, one of the Color Guardians and demanding that it must leave. Sensing an opportunity for adventure, the nanobot refused and the two began to fight, ending with Alzo escaping.

As Hal ventured deeper into the realm, it encountered guardian after guardian, learning that they were guarding a treasure within the deepest reaches in the rift. Despite their constant warnings to turn back, it only fed more to the nanobot's curiousity. Then, Hal encountered an orange guardian, naming herself Koto. She warned him that venturing any further will end up in it being in even more trouble, explaining that after her, it will have to face Voneret's brother, who she describes as the most dangerous of her colleagues that it will face. Refusing to turn back, Hal evaded her attacks. Soon, Koto got accidentally incapacitated by a fallen pillar, ending the fight. As the nanobot began to leave, the guardian's calm demeanor instantly broke down and cried out in tears, begging for it to turn back. Shocked by this response, Hal tried to reassure that it will survive Voneret's brother, but Koto defied its reasoning and explained that its actions would actually end up dooming her and her friends instead, yelling that she "can't let (it) hurt him." Hal became unsettled by her pleas, but then continued its journey as the orange guardian loses her consciousness.[1]
