Aurora is a character created by Ama for the Voidborn Rising level series as a neutral opponent. She is a "Voidborn" - a powerful celestial being born in a dark realm of space. Aurora first appeared in the series with the level Turn Around, but previously debuted with the level Promises - vs Aurora.

Background

There is a tale of a girl born with an incredible power, who woke up in a terrible, dark place, one where nothing can exist without it being torn apart. A place outside time and space known as the NEXUS. Unfortunately for the girl, Her form does not last long. She is quickly torn apart within the blank void, and dies... But for some reason, the girl's heart doesn't... She is reincarnated again, and dies again...and again...and again...and again...each time, slowly losing that which made her what she was, with this process lasting for over 23 aeons. Endless rebirth and death.

Eventually, it ceases. But by the time it has done so, she'd lost it all. Whatever humanity was left in her no longer existed. This girl was now reduced to nothing but an nameless, unknown entity. A shadowy being of chaos that has no need to sleep, eat or even breathe, with power unlike anything that has ever - and WILL ever exist. She now drifts aimlessly in the infinite emptiness of the Nexus, knowing nothing other than one thing, most likely the fault of a strange feeling of displacement inside her... She didn't belong there, and she wanted out. But the being was unable to leave, she didn't know how to, she didn't know if she could until something else showed up in the Nexus, or to be more specific...someone.

Voidborn Rising

In the first level of Voidborn Rising, Turn Around, Aurora comes across the player, a lost girl from the far future. Aurora believed the player was her key to escaping and attacked, hoping to use her power to find a way out the Nexus. The young Aurora nearly destroyed herself from a burnout, where she used her remaining energy in a failed attempt to vaporize the girl and absorb whatever energy she had. With her consciousness lost, Aurora would eventually be saved from a swarm of dark beings when Niji somehow entered the Nexus unharmed and exited with with her quickly.

Appearance

Aurora is usually shown as a black circle with a white outline. She has a white triangular shape in the center of her head that points down towards the center of her body. She has two eyes and a mouth, as well as wavy, white hair.

Trivia

• Originally Aurora was meant to be a main antagonist in two scrapped storylines:
  • One was titled "PA: Voided", and featured many fanon characters that would ally with each other to take on a dark force corrupting the game, which had been lurking in the background for years.
  • Another was named "Project Starstrike", where the player would encounter her in a possessed, destructive form.
• Voidborn Rising is no longer in production.
