[Gyntening, Lost Love 1-3]
An unexpected face-off with Cameli, the Prism Demon!

Pier Gin Tonic is a level created by Umbra for the Gyntening and the Lost Love collections. It features Cameli as a boss, with Flash appearing as a savior character.

Layout

Keeping in theme with Cameli's title as a prism demon, this level uses colors to signify the directions of attacks throughout.

  • Right - Orange
  • Left - Purple
  • Up - Green
  • Down - Blue

Opening

You wish to test your endurance against me, yes? As is customary. You're a fool for staking your life, but I accept.

The level starts with a warning that it is not a part of Black Heart in the style of most other Gyntening levels. Once the song begins, a circle appears in the center, shooting out quick circle bullets. The bullets begin to rotate soon afterwards, until the circle disappears and is replaced with Cameli making an entrance. He introduces himself to the player, noting that they weren't meant to meet this soon but will still test their endurance. The dialogue part has some laser attacks throughout.

Checkpoint 1

Cameli begins his attacks by moving across walls on the edges of the screen and sweeping with a laser in that direction, while sending out bullet explosions and other laser attacks. He uses this attack from the top followed by the bottom, stopping afterwards to rise up from the center of the screen and attack both sides with a sweeping laser. He then attacks from the left and right walls, using a sweeping laser in the center again with it moving downwards.

Checkpoint 2

Walls appear on all sides of the screen as it begins scrolling to the right. Throughout this section, several wide lasers are used as attacks, while Cameli teleports around the screen. When Cameli appears, he shoots out several large bullets that float momentarily before growing and moving away. These bullets can appear in two groups - a steady stream of bullets with one at a time, or groups of three or five that all launch at once. At the end of this section, Cameli is blown offscreen by a large laser from someone out of view.

Checkpoint 3

I saw that mean, scary demon bullying you...and I couldn't help but try to save you! But he's gone now! I totally kicked his butt!
- Flash, Pier Gin Tonic

This section has no gameplay, with Flash attempting to save the player from Cameli. However, in the fashion of other Gyntening levels, he fails as Cameli returns and kills him quickly. After taking out and eating Flash's heart, Cameli transforms into his demon form and disappears and leaves a color-changing square behind.

Checkpoint 4

After a small wall closes in on the edges, a group of several white bullets appears. These bullets move in coordination with the color of the square in the center, following the direction that the color matches to. Occasionally, the square in the center will fire out a bullet explosion, and colored laser attacks shoot throughout this section with the same color and direction of the square as well. The section closes with the square moving offscreen to the top, being replaced by Cameli soon after.

Checkpoint 5

The screen scrolls upward as walls appear on the left and right. player to keep moving up or take damage. As Cameli teleports around and sweeps across the screen with lasers, large prism bullets appear in groups both from the walls and from the center of the screen. Cameli also sends out a bullet explosion in this section before disappearing momentarily. Once he reappears, he appears to charge up an attack, and enters the final phase of his fight. A set of squares appears on the bottom of the screen, forcing the This last set of attacks is similar to the earlier part of this checkpoint, with sweeping lasers and prism bullets. The prism bullets come from the left and right initially, and then start to fall from the top of the screen. Cameli finishes by throwing three circles that explode into bullets to the bottom of the screen. He leaves off the top of the screen and reappears in the center soon after, tired out.

Checkpoint 6

Phew...what a workout. At least I got a decent snack out of it though. Anyway, you pass. Flying colors and everything.

This part has no attacks, with Cameli returning to his normal form and congratulating the player on surviving his fight. He leaves offscreen to the top, and the level finishes with a message wishing ol666 a happy birthday.

  • Umbra's video recording of Pier Gin Tonic on YouTube has the player reacting to the events of the level as they canonically do in Lost Love.[1]
  • The level was updated with a new thumbnail and added warnings and details. However, the level description was not changed and still credits LockDrop for the thumbnail, despite his being replaced.
