Quinzoid, sometimes nicknamed Quin, is the main antagonist of the Another World custom level collection by DXL44. He is the owner and CEO of Powersound Technologies, a large corporation operating in the Another World universe. Throughout the first chapter of Another World he has largely remained a force working behind the scenes, hiring a professional assassin and putting a bounty on the player to try and get rid of them. He made his first true appearance in Airborne Robots, where he fought the player directly.

History

Another World Chapter 1

Quinzoid's dark portal was discovered first in 10000, where it accidentally led to Dark Hal's creation. After this, Quinzoid quickly became aware of the player's presence and hired Bond to defeat them, leading to Peer Gunt. However, Bond failed in stopping the player, forcing Quinzoid to place a public bounty on the player's head to find someone else who could defeat them.

Description

Appearance

Quinzoid's body is built around a trapezoid shape. His hands are both pentagons, and his eyes and mouth are made up of circles. Quinzoid wears a mechanical top-hat on the top left of his body and a bowtie in the middle bottom, each with darker colors than his body.

Personality

At his core, Quinzoid is manipulative and sees himself as superior to everyone else. He prefers total control, and is power-hungry. Quinzoid is clever at striking deals with others and manipulating them thanks to his years of business experience. As a result, he is also a good salesman - often appearing in Powersound promotions and acting in the public as the face of the company. His true intentions are often easily masked by his formal and intelligent outgoing appearance. He has education in both business and engineering.

Abilities

Quinzoid's abilities are rooted in the C.H.A.P. weapons system, which is made up of his bowtie and top-hat. These two dapper but deadly accessories allow for a multitude of different laser attacks, and can also be used with new weapons or even vehicles.

Trivia

• Quinzoid was named by Minemaker0430. His name is a portamanteau of the prefix "Quin" (relating to his pentagon hands) and "trapezoid" (the shape of his body).
• Quinzoid did not die at the end of Airborne Robots and was able to escape the self-destruct.
• During the Another World AMA, additional information about Quinzoid was revealed:
  • He hired Bond because of his "good track record".
  • C.H.A.P. stands for "Cool Hat for Attacking People".
  • Powersound Technologies sells everyday electronic devices such as smartphones and tablets.
  • When asked why he took an interest in Dark Hal, Quinzoid simply answered "Who wouldn't?"
  • The "trap" mentioned in Airborne Robots is for someone else Quinzoid has taken interest in.
