Description
Dreamer.

Dreamer is a Basic difficulty level created by Taikeb0 for the 2020.1 level contest. It has no boss characters, to follow the contest's prompt. The level is split into two parts - all attacks in the first half are reversed, while attacks in the second half move normally.

Layout

Start

Circles shrinking in size are visible in the background. Square bullets move across the screen from right to left. Eventually, small triangle bullets begin to move together to form bombs at the bottom of the screen, which move offscreen downwards.

Checkpoint 1

The square bullets continue, and lasers begin to appear. After appearing, each laser shrinks in length towards the top of the screen, before departing. The reversed bombs reappear, followed by a circle appearing in the center of the screen. Diamond-shaped bullets move in on the circle from offscreen, while square bullets move down from the top and the bombs continue.

Checkpoint 2

A pair of squares appears, rotating around and alongside each other before disappearing in a flash of light. The "normal" half of the level begins, with all attacks no longer being reversed. Differences in this checkpoint include:

  • The circles in the background now grow in size.
  • The square bullets now move from right to left.
  • The lasers now appear as smaller squares at the top of the screen, before slamming downwards.
  • The bombs now explode at the bottom of the screen, sending out the smaller triangle bullets.

Checkpoint 3

This section starts off similar to Checkpoint 1, with the attacks being reversed as well:

  • The square bullets now move from the bottom to the top.
  • The circle now releases the diamond bullets, instead of absorbing them.

After the circle disappears, the square bullets remain for a some time before the screen fades to black and zooms in.
