Level One (Technado)
CREATION OF TERABYTE.EXE PENDING... PLAYER INPUT REQUIRED
Level One is a level created by Technado as the (fittingly named) first level of the World on Fire storyline. The level takes place inside of Liz’s computer, where the player, Terabyte, is created. It is Technado’s first and currently only non-boss level.
Layout
A loading screen for a Windows XP computer appears at the start of the level before transitioning to a desktop. A file called terabyte.exe is opened, causing the mouse to fall down and for several lasers to destroy the desktop.
Checkpoint 1
A horizontal bar appears in the center of the screen and shoots arrows vertically as large lasers cover up sections of the screen. After this a large circle shoots lasers the form a 3x3 grid which changes shape.
Checkpoint 2
A large saw chases the player down a corridor with vaporwave-esque walls while a ring of circles spins and moves around the screen. The screen moves back as several crushers try to crush the player.
Checkpoint 3
This checkpoint takes place in a large factory surrounded by gears and pipes. Several pillars force the player to dash and metal nuts fly upwards. Halfway through, the player gains their red pigment.
Checkpoint 4
This section takes place in a corridor of gears and pipes. Gears fall occasionally and spinning metal bars fire bullets in groups of 3. This is followed with a part in a cross-shaped arena as squares appear in certain locations on the grid.
Checkpoint 5
This checkpoint starts with a reference to The Machine by 02xygen where laser pointers blast lasers that bounce off the platforms at the player. Terabyte then goes into a spinning arena where 2 of the 4 squares in the arena will be filled.
Checkpoint 6
This is a final chase segment, with a large black mass chasing the player as several black circles attack as well.
Checkpoint 7
Terabyte appears in front of a computer to see Liz getting excited over her success in creating Terabyte, and naming her new creatoin. The level ends with the World on Fire logo flashing on screen

Trivia
- The end of the official YouTube video for Level One has a short jingle at the end hinting at the next level in the series, Rise and Shine.
- The introduction scene has a random easter egg where an image of Funky Kong has a chance of showing up in the background.
- Liz originally named the player “Hal” at the end of the level, along with the window at the opening originally being labeled “hal.exe”. This was changed soon after release to Terabyte, which was the player’s new name in the story.
