10000 (DXL44)
Another World Part 4. Hey look, it’s a Dark Hal.
10000 is a level created by DXL44. It features the boss Dark Hal, a dark version of the player. It is the third part of the Another World collection, and takes place immediately after its previous level Press Start.
Layout
Opening
The opening is some dialogue where Hal explains to DXL that they weren’t looking for a fight. Hal asks DXL for help with directions to a location given by Sunrise.
Checkpoint 1
This first part of the level has the screen moving to the right with some bullets and lasers to keep you moving.
Checkpoint 2
The player and DXL arrive at a portal - only small hexagon pulses pose a threat here as this section is largely story-focused. The portal will eventually begin to pulse and power up as Dark Hal is summoned through it.
Checkpoint 3
This part is the fight against Dark Hal. Dark Hal’s attacks consist of these:
- Dashing around the screen at incredibly fast speeds.
- Pulling a giant wall that can cover up to half the screen.
- Summoning a portal that unleashes a flood of square bullets.
- Sending out a ring of bullets.
- Lasers, of course.
Checkpoint 4
Several bullets rain from the sky as hexagon-shaped bombs will come up from below. The level ends with Dark Hal moving at fast speeds only to be stopped by DXL. Before they can be captured, Dark Hal flies up into the sky as an exit.

Trivia
- Peer Gunt, which takes place following this level, was actually released before it to meet the deadline for the Gyntening.
- This level appears in PA Memories (2.1), where the drop section with Dark Hal's bossfight is almost entirely remade.
- A remake of this level is planned using a different song.
