Queer Gynt (Starrlet)
Ah yes, a bowl of popcorn casually sitting on a table. Wait, why's it moving?
Queer Gynt is a level created by Starrlet for The Peer Gyntening. It features Popcorn as a ghost antagonist, and Chip as a savior character halfway through the level.
Layout
Opening
- Popcorn, Queer Gynt
The level opens with a shaking bowl of popcorn in the bottom center of the screen. As it moves around, several pieces of popcorn fly out the top of it and fall down. Eventually, the bowl stops moving and Popcorn jumps out with a bullet explosion. Popcorn introduces himself and gets slightly distracted before beginning his attacks.
Checkpoint 1
Popcorn surrounds himself in a circleand shoots out four rotating lasers from it while moving around. Orbiting around the circle is a single spike that also occasionally shoots out its own laser. As popcorn moves around, he also sends out bullet explosions and popcorn bounces up from the bottom of the screen. Segments of the rotating lasers also are covered with giant laser beams as well.
Checkpoint 2
Chip appears and knocks Popcorn out of the way with his sword, apologizing to the player for having to deal with him. Soon after moving to the center of the screen, a giant Popcorn appears behind him and eats him alive, killing him.
Checkpoint 3
The giant Popcorn moves around the screen, chomping down at the player. He eventually uses a rotating lasers attack similar to the one in the first checkpoint as well. Popcorn eventually switches from being on top to the bottom and starts to attack with his hands while the lasers continue to rotate. He then leaves through the bottom.
Checkpoint 4
- Popcorn, Queer Gynt
Reappearing at the top of the screen and at his normal Size, Popcorn once again uses the rotating lasers and spike laser combination from the first checkpoint. Alongside this he uses bullet explosion attacks as well, in a far greater number than the first checkpoint. The camera scrolls down until Popcorn's bowl is visible again. Giving up and hoping that someone else will take care of the player, Popcorn dives back in and the level shows a list of special thanks.
